Summer Internship Celebration: August 24, 2018

Participants in the Jamie Kirk Hahn Internship Program, employers, family members, social workers, volunteers, donors, staff and members of the Board of Directors of The Hope Center at Pullen celebrated the accomplishments of young people in foster care, ages 16-20, who had completed their summer internships. 26 young people participated in the program, working in local nonprofits and businesses in areas of their interest. They worked 1,530 hours between June and September and earned over $12,000. Many thanks to the employers, donors and volunteers who provided these young people with work opportunities that allowed them to receive on-the-job experience, to make the connection between employment and the need to further their educations, and to gain self-confidence.
