HCP on WRAL

In May, WRAL featured HCP’s work helping former foster youth find housing in this market.

Quick takeaway: Renters must show that their income is 3x the monthly rent to even qualify to rent a unit. When rent is averaging $1,371 for a one-bedroom unit, that means youth transitioning out of foster care who’ve just left high school would need to land a job that pays just shy of $50,000 per year just to qualify.

Your donations to HCP allow us to step-in as a support network to ensure that our youth can access more affordable apartments and have the support to qualify to rent an apartment.
